IonTuition, a Ceannate company, surveyed 1,000 American adults to explore how certain levels of debt have an impact on all aspects of life, from job-hunting to social interactions, particularly for recent college graduates.
Despite the fact that the majority of college graduates have student loan debt, the survey shows that:
75 percent view student loan debt as a social burden.
Over a quarter consider it irresponsible to go into student loan debt for a profession with a low-paying salary.
More than 70 percent felt potentially obligated to help pay off their significant other’s student loan debt.
